/// Location & Directions
The Leiste Festival takes place on a field in Kandel, in the Palatinate region.
Arrival by train: Regional trains run to Kandel station from Karlsruhe, Neustadt an der Weinstraße, or Landau(Pfalz). From there, a shuttle bus to the festival operates on Fridays. Exact times will be announced on Telegram and Instagram. Alternatively, it’s about a 40-minute walk from the station, or a 10-minute bike ride to Leiste.
Arrival by car: Possible. Parking is available.
The exact coordinates will be shared on Telegram and Instagram. They will lead you to an intersection, where signs will guide you the rest of the way.
/// Tickets
Tickets are available on this website. They come in different price categories and are limited — so be quick. ;)
When purchasing your tickets, please enter your names and an e-mail adress. At the entrance, simply show your receipt and state your name. You will then receive a wristband and a Küfa card.
/// Payment
At the bar in the small hut, you can pay in cash or via PayPal; at the additional food and drink stalls, payment is usually in cash. At our Küfa, you can get food by showing your Küfa card (included in the ticket price).
/// Camping
You’re welcome to camp with us!
The festival grounds and the adjacent camping area will open on August 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM and close on August 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
There’s plenty of space on the campsite, so you can stay overnight with your van and/or tent. Don’t forget to bring sun protection.
We’d really appreciate it if you could dispose of your trash in the provided bins.
/// Food
During the festival, we will host four Küfa meals (“Küche für alle”), which are included in the ticket price: two breakfast buffets and two dinners.
For dinner, you will receive a card at the entrance at the beginning of the festival, which will be stamped when you get your meal.
- Dinner on Friday and Saturday (vegan)
- Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday (vegan/vegetarian)
!! Please also bring your own tableware: a bowl, cutlery (especially a spoon), and a cup/mug (also for the bar) !!
In addition to our Küfa, you can look forward to some extra treats on Saturday. These additional snacks will be available for a small fee.
Of course, you’re welcome to bring your own snacks. There will also be a drinking water station available.
/// Hygiene
Between the camping and festival areas, you’ll find compost toilets and showers.
/// Helping Hands
Since we are just a small crew organizing Leiste, we need your helping hands to make it happen! You can jump in behind the bar, help with food, welcome people at the entrance, or support our awareness team during the festival.
We will share the sign‑up link for volunteer shifts on Instagram and Telegram. Once you’ve signed up, we will reach out and sort out the details together.
We greatly appreciate your help!<3
/// Awareness
For us, awareness means being mindful of people, situations, and boundaries. It’s about adopting an attitude that actively counters discrimination and violence, while supporting those affected, both preventively and in response to incidents.
As an awareness team, this means staying attentive to situations in which someone’s boundaries or sense of safety may be crossed.
Each person defines for themselves if and how they have experienced violence or discrimination. Their experience and perspective are taken seriously, believed, and not questioned. Even if there is no clear boundary violation, you can still reach out to the awareness team if you feel uncomfortable or need support — we will find a solution together.
Awareness starts with you. Help us create a space where everyone can feel as safe and comfortable as possible. <3
You can recognize us by our purple vests. If you can’t find us directly, you can always approach other team members, the bar staff, or the entrance crew — they will connect you with the awareness team. You don’t have to explain what happened right away; simply say that you would like to get in touch with the awareness team.
From breakfast until the last act, we move around the festival grounds in pairs and are there for you. In addition, we are available 24/7 via our awareness phone number, which you can find on our awareness signs and at our hang-out spots across the site.
More information, including how you can support us, will be shared on our social media channels.
